Ambition is NOT a dirty word

Feels strange to be saying this in 2026…. but just a reminder that you are allowed to be “ambitious”.

I hereby give you permission. 😀

It’s not:

• Selfish to prioritise your dreams
• Presumptuous to go after them or
• Arrogant to talk about them or your progress towards them 

Also, in case you’re confusing ambition with being a jerk (do people use that word anymore? 🤔):

• You can be ambitious without hurting anyone else in the process.
• There is no need to ‘step on’ anyone else to get ahead.

If you’ve been holding yourself back because of any of those beliefs or worries… perhaps it’s time for a reset.

I managed to get all the way to partnership at a US law firm without stomping on anyone else, or turning into a selfish or arrogant arsehole.

I’m not saying those people don’t exist, but if you’re worried about becoming one, you are NOWHERE NEAR it.

So don’t let your fear of turning into a completely different person, stop you from being ambitions for your own big goals.

You can 💯 do that, WHILE ALSO, behaving in integrity with yourself and your values.

In fact - how about you go create some value, get ahead in your career, and bring everyone else along with you.

It could be true that:

✅ There’s enough to go around.

✅ You rise, they rise.

Be ambitious for THAT.  🔥
